The Productivity Commission convened a roundtable Promoting Better Environmental Outcomes at Old Parliament House, Canberra on 20 August 2008, with three sessions covering:

1. the effectiveness of current approaches to environmental issues
2. the strengths and limitations of market-based and cooperative solutions
