SNIPPET: Weeds cost Australia more than A$4 billion a year either in control or lost production and cause serious damage to the environment. 'One critical unknown is what these lurking weeds will do under climate change. 'We found that climate change will cause most of these weeds to shift south, with wet tropical species making the greatest move - over 1000km,' Dr Scott said.

SNIPPET: In an address today at GREENHOSUE 2009 in Perth, Ms Dowd says a CSIRO Energy Transformed Flagship project called Energymark aims to develop new ways to foster long lasting behavioural change at home and at work. 'Based on the concept that behavioural change requires knowledge intervention to change attitudes, Energymark helps build the knowledge base in communities regarding sustainable energy use and emissions reduction.'. 'The success of the program is due to its group convenors who bring together friends, family, workmates and neighbours to talk about energy, climate change and mitigation,' she says.
