AUSTRALIAN IT INDUSTRY HAS HUGE ROLE IN CUTTING EMISSIONS: AIIA

MELBOURNE, Sept 9 Asia Pulse - Australia's information technology industry has a "potentially enormous" role to play in helping business, government and other sections of society reduce carbon emissions, an industry body said today.

As the federal government moves towards an emissions trading Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) said the IT sector would be a key catalyst in helping Australian firms reduce their carbon footprint.
