$60 million solar manufacturing facility

I have granted Major Project Facilitation (MPF) status to a planned $60 million solar manufacturing facility which has the potential to be the largest supplier of solar cells in the Southern Hemisphere.

Spark Solar Australia’s Solar Cell Manufacturing Project is the first to be granted MPF status by the Rudd Labor Government, demonstrating how we are building the low carbon economy laid out in last year’s White Paper.

A program to help manufacturers tackle climate change

18/09/2008 - Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research today launched the Rudd Government's $75 million Re-tooling for Climate Change grants program.

Re-tooling for Climate Change will offer small and medium sized manufacturers grants ranging from $10,000 to $500,000 to help them reduce the environmental impact of their production processes.
